Idaho Waters

A Beautiful Guide To Idaho’s Splendor

Journey through Idaho’s immensely populated forests and stone covered terrain for a glimpse of these mighty waterways that carve their way through the toughest hurdles, supply us with food, give us energy, and quench our thirst.

These amazing waterways tell their stories of their lifetime expeditions with the paths they have taken.

Introduction:

Idaho waters have shaped the history and beauty of Idaho since the beginning of time. From the towering Continental Divide to the depths of Malad Gorge, the waters of Idaho flow across the vast expanse that is “The Gem State.” With high desert plains, vast glacier-carved valleys, the urban-banked Boise River, pristine and meandering waters of the Salmon through the Stanley Basin, pastel sunsets over Lake Pend Oreille, and the morning mist rising along the Middle Fork of the Payette River, Idaho is a land of contrasts. Idaho waters showcases and Idaho that is one of

the most diverse and interesting places in the world. Its geology, geography, and history are the saga of the open spaces of the American West.

Celebration of wild waters, wild horses, and wildflowers and a place where you can travel for

miles along dirt roads or rural highways seeing another car. Locals make sure to keep their gas tanks full because they never know when the next open gas station will come into view. Idaho waters captures the spectacular romance that still lies within Idaho: a rustic home with the Sawtooths jutting up behind it, a raging river next to the Gospel Hump Wilderness area, a wildflower announcing spring as the high waters of the Clearwater rush by.

Take a look inside

In Idaho Waters you will enjoy the beauty that runs in and along the great river basins of Idaho, including its Lost Rivers, Hells Canyon along the mighty Snake, rivers of legend and commerce, waters where historic steamb oats have been replaced by sleek kayaks. These waterways were the highways of early history, followed by the indigenous people then by early explorers like Lewis and Clark and later pioneer travelers of the Oregon, California, and Mormon Trails. Idaho Waters is an exploration of Idaho through the lens of a variety of historical accounts and this Idaho-born artist’s camera. Camera in hand, I traveled from the highest peaks to the deepest canyons, stood at the top of Deadman Falls and flew through Hells Canyon all in search of the unique beauty that is Idaho. Idaho Waters is where everything from a simple flowering cactus in the desert, dusky sunset along the Kootenai River, and stampeding horses spring to life in front of us.
